Prevalence and Pattern of Allergic and Non Allergic Rhinitis in Hospitalised Patients in A Tertiary Health Care: A Cross Sectional Study

摘要: Background: Rhinitis is inflammation of nasal mucosa leading to rhinorrhea, obstruction, sneezing, itching etc. Although considered trivial, it has major impact on quality life. The objective study the prevalence Allergic rhinitis and non in hospitalized patients with special reference respiratory cases association perinatal events if any. Material And Method: An observational was conducted among (aged 1 year 14 years) admitted S.C.B. medical college during period January 2014-June 2014. Patients were enquired as per a predesigned questionnaire its asthma (ARIA) guideline investigated establish etiology. Results: Among 472 in-patient studied, 17% found have (AR), 18% had Non-Allergic (NAR). Urban rural for AR NAR are 2:1and 1.1:1(p-value 0.047) respectively. There high respiratory(15%) well cases(23%).Allergic 2.5 times more common babies delivered by LSCS than VD (p-value=0.007, 2.5:1). Runny nose most complaint where obstruction commonest non-Allergic rhinitis. 48% SPT positive, 16% allergic showed serum IgE above 200IU/L. Conclusion: non- our country which go unnoticed evident from this study. Rhinitis, both also very even complaints.
