Sports injuries in athletes with disabilities: wheelchair racing

摘要: This study investigates the incidence of sports injuries in athletes who participate wheelchair racing UK. Wheelchair has been identified as one top ‘injury risk’ but little information is available to or type injury sustained by British athletes. A questionnaire was used collect about last 12 months. Members Racing Association (BWRA) were sent questionnaires. Most subjects (72%) reported having at least within previous Training variables such distance pushed per week (Mann-Whitney U = 61, P>0.05), amount speed training 110, P > 0.05), number weight sessions 26, 0.05) length time athlete had involved 103, not associated with occurrence an injury. Overuse common and recurred more often than other types (X2 3.95, < 0.05). Those recurring also tended be those restarted before they pain-free from their 5.31, There appears a link between overuse injuries, presence pain during recurrence injuries. lack knowledge what causes them do following may contribute high this group
