摘要: Abstract The strengthening of an Al–Mg–Si–Cu alloy during natural ageing and subsequent short artificial was investigated using three-dimensional atom probe (3DAP) analysis tensile testing. contingency table Markov chain analyses confirmed that non-random arrangements atoms already exist after a time only 3.5 h. Extensive use particle tools in the IVAS PoSAP software packages revealed whilst commonly used minimum aggregate size (Nmin) 10 is reasonable choice, much more useful information about system can be gained by additionally employing wide range larger smaller Nmin values. In particular, it found density volume fraction solute aggregates increased with increasing T4 condition. After 0.5 h treatment at 170 °C (designated as T6), size, Mg/Si ratio were all to decrease prior time. These findings are discuss detrimental effect ageing, where T6 strength has been observed rapidly before stabilising several hours ageing.
