摘要: Abstract This study experimentally investigates the seismic performance of base-isolated structures using shake table tests. The base isolating system used in this consists laminated rubber bearings and U-shaped hysteretic energy-dissipating devices called UH dampers below. for a structure experience significantly large deformations both lateral directions when subjected to severe ground shaking. In order accommodate such without noticeable strength degradation, have been made high toughness steel (HTS) that possesses excellent material properties compared ordinary structural (SS). Based on preliminary finite element analyses, employing slotted-hole details induce uniform stress distribution are proposed. Also, analyses with suggests they could be SS instead relatively expensive HTS. Prior tests, component cyclic tests bearing proposed HTS were performed determine their characteristics. Base-isolated initially designed based test results equivalent force procedure. Three specimens (a fixed-base structure, (UH-H dampers), slotted (UH-S dampers)) prepared. historical earthquake records. show achieved better response frame. addition, UH-S present is comparable UH-H damper.
