Teacher Sorting, Teacher Quality, and Student Composition: Evidence from Norway

摘要: Using panel data for Norwegian schools, we establish a two-equation supply and demand model teachers with approved education. Taking into account nationally determined teacher pay strict appointment rule, the enable us to separately estimate functions certified teachers. The results clearly indicate that student body composition, in particular students belonging ethnic minorities, influences both demand. implied negative relationship between excess share of minority is likely be important quality.
