Verifying complete obliteration of Carotid artery-cavernous sinus fistula : Role of color Doppler ultrasonography

摘要: Abstract The purpose of this study was to evaluate the role color Doppler ultrasonography in verifying obliteration carotid artery-cavernous sinus fistula before and after therapeutic embolization or gamma knife radiosurgery. Before treatment, showed following data on ultrasonography: (1) increased blood flow common artery (220 1264 ml/min with mean+/-SD 728+/-378 ml/min); internal (435 1097 834+/-216 ml/min) fistulas direct type; external (85 257 170+/-75 indirect type comparison contralateral side; (2) reverse pulsatile spiculated wave form turbulent engorged superior ophthalmic vein lesion side all patients. All above abnormal hemodynamic changes became normal six patients immediately first embolization, two balloon combined subsequent by puncture through orbital fissure five radiosurgery at 4, 8, 9, 9 months, respectively. Color might be a good modality long-term follow-up embolization.
