摘要: Virtually all cells in multicellular organisms display polarity that is essential for their function. Neurons extend axons and dendrites specified directions to make specific connections, immune synapse exchange information regulating target recognition, epithelia transport molecules between compartments while maintaining distinct compositions on either side. Many epithelial also planar cell (PCP), or orthogonal the apical–basal axis. This article discusses a PCP signaling mechanism controls polarization of within plane epithelium, orienting asymmetric cellular structures, divisions, shapes.
