摘要: Calcium deposits in the basal ganglia and other areas of brain may occur as idiopathic disease or secondary to metabolic disturbances including hypoparathyroidism. Fahr's syndrome is characterized by cerebral calcification variable clinical manifestations movement disorder, cognitive impairment, behavioral changes. We report a 48 year-old man with due hypoparathyroidism who presented recurrent epileptic seizures. Brain CT showed multiple calcifications Fahr type ganglia, thalami, cerebellar white matter dentate nuclei, centrum seiovale. MRI diffusion-weighted image high signal intensity right anterior temporal region.
