摘要: Analysis of growth factors and receptors in putative premalignant lesions prostatic adenocarcinoma should aid our understanding their pathways. Sixty TURP (transurethral resection the prostate) specimens exhibiting atypical adenomatous hyperplasia (AAH) and/or intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN) were assayed by immunohistochemistry for androgen receptor (AR), epidermal factor (EGFR), c-erbB-2, transforming factor-alpha (TGF-alpha), vascular endothelial (VEGF), fibroblast factor-2 (FGF-2), MIB-1, E-cadherin, high molecular weight keratin. Expression these was compared with that co-existing benign (BPH) or adenocarcinoma. Strong AR nuclear staining observed luminal cells, but not basal BPH PIN all carcinomas examined. A similar profile demonstrated secretory epithelium high-grade carcinoma a tendency to higher expression membranous EGFR c-erbB-2 cytoplasmic TGF-alpha, lower levels FGF-2 than low-grade glands. Also, increased rates proliferation, as estimated MIB-1 stained comparison confined layer. AAH resembled neither nor carcinoma. Proliferation virtually absent (MIB-1 expression); both E-cadherin significantly reduced; and, exception FGF-2, other studied absent. The results presented would support role PIN, whilst appear represent quiescent phenotype unlikely progress neoplasia.
