摘要: For decades Western medicine has followed a biomedical model based on linear thinking and an individualized, disease-oriented doctor-patient relationship. Today this framework must be replaced by biopsychosocial complexity theory person-oriented medical team-patient relationship, taking into account the psychological social determinants of health disease. However, new is already proving no longer adequate or appropriate, current events are urging us to develop ecological in which team takes both individual illness population as whole, since we all part biosphere. In recent years, rising costs cancer treatment have raised serious issue economic sustainability. As our planet, now need rapidly address issue, everyone try reduce their footprint, measured CO2 production. Medical oncologists footprint professional activity lowering consumption resources avoiding environmental damage much possible. This paradigm endorsed Italian College Hospital Oncology Directors (CIPOMO). A working group organization drafted "Green Position Paper": proposal oncology (in accordance with international guidelines) that oncologists, while aiming for same end results, make commitment toward more appropriate management care careful use order protect environment ecosphere during daily exercise activities.
