摘要: Eight alien plant invaders were identifi ed in the Daan Viljoen Game Park, and their distribution, abundance population parameters assessed related to one another. Alien include four species of Genus Opuntia (Opuntia fi cus–indica ( (spineless), cf. dillenii, vulgaris unidentifi species. Other aliens Argemone ochroleuca, ochroleuca Datura innoxia, innoxia Nicotiana glauca Prosopis (of P. glandulosa). Distribution maps are glandulosa provided for each Of all these invasive plants, dillenii appears pose greatest potential threat. The invasiveness spiny spp. is probably mostly attributable obvious defence against browsing (spines) ability (compared indigenous succulents at least) vegetatively propagate. Seed dispersal, through fruit consumption, by baboons, also plays an important role success. Riverine habitat proved be most invasible, with seven eight occurring it. It likely that number invading park will increase, as populations species, particularly dillenii. Active management remove recommended. This save time, money biodiversity long run.
