摘要: Heavy water (H 218 O) has been used to label DNA of soil microorganisms in stable isotope probing experiments, yet no measurements have reported for the 18O content from incubated with heavy water. Here we present first atom% extracted addition H O. Four experiments were conducted test how DNA, Ponderosa Pine forest water, was affected by following variables: (1) time, (2) nutrients, (3) moisture, and (4) added H2O. In time series experiment, increased linearly (R2 = 0.994, p < 0.01) over 72 h incubation. nutrient there a positive correlation 0.991, 0.006) between log10 amount tryptic soy broth, complex DNA. For experiment where moisture manipulated, higher until reached 30%, above which enrichment declined as soils became more saturated. When H2O varied, linear relationship Results indicate that quantification incorporated into O potential be proxy microbial growth soil.
