摘要: Sodium vapor seeded into a hypersonic helium flow through an orifice on model is used as tracer to determine velocity profiles. A narrow‐linewidth tunable dye laser scanned across the Doppler‐shifted absorption line of sodium and resonant fluorescence observed. Curves showing velocity‐shifted pressure‐ temperature‐broadened lines at several points in are presented. Fluorescence strong enough use this technique for quantitative visualization: each frequency, specific component highlighted easily observed by eye.
