摘要: This chapter is primarily a progress report on work with the enzyme from Escherichia coli. RNase P, endonuclease responsible for biosynthesis of 5' termini mature tRNA, ribonucleoprotein. The focuses relationships between structure and function subunits as determined studies eubacterial sources. Two important goals current research P are identification active site elucidation details chemical reaction governed by it. Several lines evidence have implicated region in M1 RNA that contains at least nucleotides 60 to 92, 230 260, 290 360 being essential catalysis. comes analysis deletion mutants, binding both individual tRNA precursors protein cofactor RNA, divalent metal ions RNA. Some point mutations significantly affect activity also located these regions. A summary results shown chapter. E. coli (C5 protein) highly basic molecule 119 amino acids, molecular mass 13,800 daltons.
