摘要: Repeat surveys by aircraft laser altimeter in 1993/1994 and 1998/1999 have revealed significant thinning along many parts of the Greenland ice sheet at elevations below about 2000 m. In this paper we examine elevation changes from 29 repeat over lower portions some larger outlet glaciers margin. Here rates excess 1 m/yr are common sections flight lines, but cases, rate is measured as high 1500 Warmer summers coast may caused a few tens cm/yr additional melting, magnitudes character suggest that cases they more likely result glacier dynamics creep thinning. The most extreme was observed near terminus Kangerdlugssuaq Glacier southeastern where 10 were measured. There areas thickening (over m/yr), which probably related to higher than normal accumulation during observation period; one location L, Bistrup Brae, had local regions 8 9 m/yr. Three northeast show patterns thickness change surging behavior, has been independently documented glacier. Overall, lowest reaches edges appear be changing significantly, with frequently thickening.
