摘要: Magnesium oxide, especially suitable for use in basic refractories, is produced from brine or bittern containing magnesium chloride by: (a) adding to the bittern, as a source of MgO and/or CaO, Mg(OH)2 calcined magnesite dolomite calcite/limestone such amount that case MgO, magnesite, molar ratio MgO:MgCl2 range 1:1.5 1:15 (i.e. 0.66:1 0.066:1) or, dolomite, MgO+CaO:MgCl2 0.05:1, calcite/limestone, CaO:MgCl2 0.1:1; (b) keeping mixture at temperature below 90° C. till solid mass formed; and (c) drying said up 200° The may then be maximum 1200° optionally briquetted with binder fired above 1400°
