Evaluation of thiamethoxam 70% WS as seed treatment against early sucking pests of tomato

摘要: The present investigation was carried out at Vegetable Research Centre, G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand during the 2013 2014 to evaluate effectiveness thiamethoxam, used as seed treatment against sucking insects tomato. with thiamethoxam protected tomato seedlings from aphids thrips early season onset planting. There a fast initial effect pests then gradually decreased reach moderate effect. Data revealed that Thiamethoxam 70% WS @ 4.2 g a.i./kg showed significant pest reduction followed by 3.85 seed. Highest yield recorded (28.25 t/ha) closely (25.00 compared untreated check (20.91t/ha). Percent increase in over control highest (35.10%) (19.56%). percent reductions predators Thiamethoxam, treatment, both seasons ranged 1.65- 2.58% which very minimum. Hence, it concluded 4.20 a.i/kg reduced insect-pests (aphid thrips) had less natural enemies population ascompared also increased fruit significantly than other treatments.
