摘要: Numerous studies have demonstrated that activation of serotonin 5-HT1A or 5-HT1B receptor decreases aggression in male mammals. To determine whether female mammals also show decreased response to activation, we assessed the effects agonists 8-OH-DPAT (5-HT1A) and CGS-12066A (5-HT1B) on Syrian hamsters. Female hamsters were tested for interfemale 2 days before 15 min after receiving intracerebroventricular infusions (5, 10, 20 microg) microg). Neither drug affected as measured by latency frequency attacks uprights, although highest dose increased general activity. For hamsters, intraventricular 10 microg essentially eliminated aggression, whereas 5 without effect. Systemic treatment with (1 mg/kg body weight) did reduce females, there was an attendant increase symptoms nonspecific serotonergic There no behavioral systemic (4 These results indicate may be sex differences neurochemical regulation point a need more directed at this issue.
