摘要: Recent studies have shown that the serum transferrin receptor is a sensitive, quantitative measure of tissue iron deficiency. This study was undertaken to determine receptor's ability distinguish iron-deficiency anemia from chronic inflammation and identify deficiency in patients with liver disease. The mean level 17 normal controls 5.36 +/- 0.82 mg/L compared 13.91 4.63 (p less than 0.001). all 20 acute infection, including five hepatitis, also 8 10 anemic Receptor levels were range but 4 41 We conclude unlike ferritin levels, which are disproportionately elevated relation stores or disease, not affected by these disorders therefore reliable laboratory index anemia.
