摘要: Continued evolution of catheter-based technology has expanded applications endovascular therapy for the treatment cardiac and peripheral vascular diseases. Research development advances have affected metal, textile, polymer biomaterials facilitated refinements in design construction devices. As a result, performance these devices improved, complications been reduced, uses minimally invasive expanded. This chapter reviews biomaterial properties characteristics existing guidewires, angioplasty balloons catheters, metallic intravascular stents filters with reference to their implementation function. Design considerations newer endoluminal grafts are also discussed.
