摘要: Earthquakes are the worst natural calamities that strike without any notice and cause immediate loss of life property. Internationally, serious scientifically acceptable earthquake prediction studies started in 1970s short term Heicheng February 4, 1975 China is a land mark. In India, successful medium August 6, 1988 earthquake, (M 7.5) northeast Indian region encouraged to intensify such country. These predictions were based mainly on seismological precursors. Initially, precursory taken isolated manner, but after validation specific geophysical parameters, efforts made adopt an integrated approach involving collection, analysis interpretation various observations comprehensive coordinated manner. Accordingly, few Multi-parametric Geophysical Observatories (MPGOs) have been established at selected locations seismically active areas This led some moderate earthquakes P 4) Koyna (famous for Reservoir Triggered Seismicity) western India. Simultaneously, generate long multi-parametric from these observatories, as basic scientific input required future related studies. The real-time data sets would help understand generation process attaining predictive capabilities by developing models forecasting. To facilitate direct test hypothesis Seismicity (RTS) well processes, it planned undertake deep borehole (6–8 km) investigations paper highlights so far India area road map.
