摘要: All fledgling canaries (Serinum canarius) in a small private aviary died from atoxoplasmosis during single breeding season. The birds were clinically normal when removed their parents at 2 mo of age, but by 3 age all had following an illness characterized progressive lethargy, anorexia, and debilitation. Cachexia, splenomegaly, pale foci the liver evident necropsy. Microscopically, there was striking infiltration intestinal lamina propria mononuclear cells that contained intracytoplasmic protozoa. Protozoa also observed splenic hepatic sinusoids vascular or perivascular spaces other organs, much less numerous. Ultrastructural features infected enteric suggestive lymphocytes, majority parasitized paraffin sections intestine positive for CD-79 antigen, consistent with B lymphocytes.
