Benzofuran Trimers for Organic Electroluminescence

摘要: Four linear benzofuran trimers have been prepared by a two-stage synthetic procedure. They were tested as materials for organic electroluminescence (OEL). Precursor phenylene ethynylene oligomers formed in the first stage, then after removal of phenolic hydroxyl protecting groups, base was used to promote cyclization ortho-hydroxy ethynylenes benzofurans. Both acetate esters and tert-butyl carbonates employed groups. tert-Butyl n-hexyl substituents on benzofurans modulate solubility, aggregation, film-forming properties; two groups prevented aggregation solid state, thus maintaining emission blue region visible spectrum. The OEL characteristics tert-butyl-substituted trimer explored, observed. procedure preparation these may be applied wide variety oligomer polymer targets.
