摘要: It has become axiomatic that cognitive and psychosocial deficits severely retard recovery from traumatic brain injury. Jennett’s (1975) review of the management traumatically head-injured patients reported persistent losses as main contribution to social disability. He also cited apparent failure recognize extent family disruption resulting a trauma one its members. Lundholm, Jepsen, Thornvak in 80% followed 8 14 years posttrauma, rehabilitation was impeded by reductions mental capacity. Oddy, Humphrey, Uttley (1978) found two most common stresses experienced families 6 12 months posttrauma concerned patient’s current future deficits. Their findings suggested desired “more details regarding nature damage” (p. 511). They stated complained about lack continued psychological counseling “other than through usual psychiatric channels which they regarded inappropriate” Our clinical experience is consistent with these findings.
