摘要: Abstract : We recently developed a methylprednisolone sodium succinate (MPSS)/gentamicin sulfate (GS) regimen that prevented death in baboons given 2-hour infusion of LD100 E. coli (J. Surg. Res. 28:151, 1980). Steroid treatment was begun study 30 minutes after initiation coli. Our current aim to determine if would survive MPSS delayed until all were infused and severe hypotension had ensued. Fourteen lightly anesthetized (Papio c. cynocephalus) administered seven then treated with GS for 10 hours. All nontreated died while 6 7 animals survived. In the group, hypoglycemia hypoinsulinemia reversed, tachycardia reduced neutrophil recovery improved. Baboons MPSS, however, evidenced diminished perfusion recovered slower than those earlier treatment. conclusion, primates septic shock are clearly protected steroid/antibiotic therapy. (Author)
