Investigations of the Fracture Mechanism of Carbon/Epoxy Composites by AE Signal Analyses

摘要: Although the AE method provides useful information on operating fracture processes of materials, a synthesized evaluation signals using several parameters is necessary for composite materials because arise from various processes. In this paper, relationships between paramaters and original sources were investigated, mechanisms CFRP are discussed in terms observations surfaces internal damage laminates by SEM scanning acoustic microscope (SAM), respectively. Synthesized signal wave analyses including distributions amplitude, event duration, counts/duration (corresponding to frequency), give us powerful analyze complicated materials. The tensile tests cyclic unidirectionally reinforced carbon/epoxy composites goes through fiber/matrix interface debond fiber breaking.
