摘要: A new technique is presented for evaluating the performance of a popular type timing recovery circuit baseband synchronous pulse amplitude modulation (PAM) data signals. The consists square-law device followed by narrowband filter tuned to repetition frequency along with provision reshaping pulses entering path (prefiltering). output nearly sinusoidal wave whose zero crossings indicate appropriate sampling instants demodulation PAM signal. For random sequence, exhibits phase fluctuations which are strongly dependent on shapes and passband shape narrow-band filter. Expressions rms fluctuation in as function prefiltering postfiltering characteristics filters preceding following presented. These expressions have form especially suitable studying case where signal band-limited frequencies less than frequency. condition gives error-free Results obtained from some specific examples serve illustrate several aspects problem.
