Pulsed dc- and sine-wave-excited cold atmospheric plasma plumes: A comparative analysis

摘要: Cold atmospheric-pressure plasma plumes are generated in the ambient air by a single-electrode jet device powered pulsed dc and ac sine-wave excitation sources. Comprehensive comparisons of characteristics, including electrical properties, optical emission spectra, gas temperatures,plasma dynamics, bacterial inactivation ability two plasmas carried out. It is shown that pulse excited features much larger discharge current stronger than plasma. The temperature former remains very close to room across entire plume length; driven also shows uniform profile, which 20–30 degrees higher temperature. better performance gram-positive staphylococcus aureus bacteria. These results suggest dcelectric field more effective for generation nonequilibrium atmospheric pressure advanced health care applications.
