摘要: We present the identification of a bright submillimeter (submm) source, SMM J163555.5+661300, detected in lensing cluster Abell 2218, for which we have accurately determined position using observations from Submillimeter Array (SMA). The identified optical counterpart has spectroscopic redshift z = 4.044 ± 0.001 if attribute single emission line at λ 6140 A to Lyα. This is good agreement with optical/near-infrared photometric as well submm flux ratio S_(450)/S_(850)~ 1.6, radio-submm S_(1.4)/S_(850) 4 date. Previous CO(4-3) yielded non-detection, derived an upper limit CO luminosity L'_(CO) 0.3 × 10^(10) K km s^(–1) pc^(–2), not inconsistent L'_(CO)-L_(FIR) relation starburst galaxies. best-fit model and near-infrared photometry give stellar population age 1.4 Gyr mass 1.6 M_☉. morphology compact source plane galaxy extent ~6 3 kpc individual star-forming knots <500 pc size. J163556 resolved SMA data, place strict on size region 8 kpc, implies lower SFR surface density 12 M_☉ yr^(–1) kpc^2. extends distribution faint, lensed SMGs, find no evidence that these different than SMGs.
