摘要: Racial group studies have identified differences in the occurrence of congenital heart disease (CHD) among ethnic populations. The aim this study was to characterize proportionate frequency and clinical profile children with symptomatic cardiac abnormalities Hong Kong. hospital records 666, mainly Southern Chinese CHD, who were 4 years age or younger admitted Grantham Hospital, Kong, 1994 1995 analyzed retrospectively. Left-to-right shunting (45.0%) pulmonary outflow obstruction (34.4%) most frequently diagnosed categories, followed by left ventricular (8.3%), transposition great arteries (4.2%), conditions intracardiac mixing (3.9%), other lesions (4.2%). Compared Western studies, (p < 0.0001), particularly tetralogy Fallot critical stenosis, more frequent children. In contrast previous reports, coarctation aorta (5%) does not seem be uncommon patients. Conversely, aortic stenosis hypoplastic ventricle may rare these (1% vs 3% 3–7%). Other showed no consistent racial difference occurrence. patients Down's syndrome had septal defect (38%) as predominant lesion atrioventricular (25%). usually report a reverse pattern for two lesions. mortality rate total cohort 7.5%. However, those tract many did survive childhood (20% 21%, respectively).
