摘要: Previous research with simplified, synthetic speech has shown that formant transitions, i.e., relatively rapid shifts in frequency, can be cues for the aural identification of various consonant phones and, further, same transition will apparently serve consonants have articulatory place production. The data present series experiments permit a tentative specification certain frequency‐positions, or “loci,” which appear to characteristic according their production, and toward transitions vowel formants point. Taking account these loci provides basis an economical description many concerning role identification.
