摘要: Abstract Pulse wave velocity ( PWV ) provides information about the mechanical properties of vessel: stiffer artery is, higher will be. measured over a short arterial segment facilitates direct characterization local wall corrected for prevailing pressure without necessity measuring pulse locally. Current methods assessment have poor precision, but it can be improved by applying linear regression to characteristic time-point in distension waveforms as recorded simultaneously multiple M-line ultrasounds. We investigated precision this method phantom scaled according realistic vivo conditions. Special attention was paid identification foot wave, using maximum second derivative, intersecting tangent and 20% threshold method. Before detection, were subjected preprocessing with various filters. The derivative had coefficient variation CV 0.45% 10.45% an eighth order low pass filter, respectively. less sensitive filtering; s 0.66% 0.68% high filter 2.36% 1.43% conclude that detection or are more suitable identify measure . Both (phase) noise than exhibit good 1%. (E-mail: A.Hoeks@BF.Unimaas.nl
