摘要: A review is presented for the capillary adhesion of micro-beams and plates, this phenomenon exists widely in MEMS, animal hairs, carbon nanotubes or nanowires. Although force usually negligible at macroscopic scale human buildings, bridges vehicles, it becomes dominant small scales since surface/volume ratio increases as smaller objects are considered. In review, we show fundamental theory analysis method general problems adhesion. Firstly, micro-beam micro-plate, existing investigation deals with cases both infinitesimal finite deformation. use principle minimum total potential energy, critical adhered length deflection micro-structure can be derived. Furthermore, mechanism hierarchical structure elucidated by means energy theory. The adopted chapter also developed to solve other associated van der Waals electrostatic force. These findings may provide inspirations design micro-devices, micro-sensor non-wetting materials from different aspects (e.g., geometric shape, characteristic size, surface microstructure elasticity).
