摘要: Social cohesion has become a magic bullet that policy makers imagine will rescue communities from the ravages of market. Behind apparent cohesiveness rural community, however, lies another reality. This article examines characteristics social in two Saskatchewan. Although new forms are emerging, these riven with cleavages along multiple axes. Some local divisions appear to be deepening global and regional processes socioeconomic transformation. Long-term crises lead strategies solutions precipitate problems. Ongoing practices inclusion exclusion affect possibilities development communities.
