摘要: The increase in health research sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) has led to a high demand for biostatisticians develop study designs, contribute and apply statistical methods data analyses. Initiatives exist address the dearth capacity lack of local SSA projects. Sub-Saharan African Consortium Advanced Biostatistics (SSACAB) by institutions was initiated improve biostatistical according needs identified institutions, through collaborative masters doctoral training biostatistics. SACCAB created critical mass network over last five years strengthened biostatistics resources studies SSA.  SSACAB comprises 11 universities four which are supported European universities.  In 2015, only had established Masters programmes SSACAB remaining seven programmes. 2019 University Witwatersrand became first institution gain Royal Statistical Society accreditation programme. A total 150 fellows have been awarded scholarships date 123 fellowships (41 female) whom 58 already graduated. Graduates employed academic (19) (15) 10 enrolled PhD studies. A 27 (10 awarded; 4 them due graduate 2020. To date, students published 17 31 peer-reviewed articles, respectively. also facilitated well-attended conferences, face-to-face online short courses. Pooling limited combined with co-funding from external partners shown be an effective strategy development teaching advanced methods, supervision mentoring candidates.
