Cancer Knowledge and Opportunities for Education Among HIV-Infected Patients in an Urban Academic Medical Center.

摘要: HIV-infected patients frequently present with advanced stage cancer. It is possible that late presentation may be related to lack of cancer knowledge and/or barriers care. Questionnaires were administered 285 adult evaluate risk factors and symptoms care between 2011 2012. Differences in mean percent scores by group assessed using a t test for independent samples chi-square analysis, respectively. Respondents predominantly male (64 %), African-American (86 %), low income (60 %  70 % correct) compared those without any personal history (62 %) (p = 0.03). There was higher level this population studies have evaluated the HIV-uninfected population. Nevertheless, there deficits, suggesting need further education about improve earlier detection rates and, ultimately, outcomes.
