摘要: Abstract In this article, we argue that the single greatest challenge to training future generation of surgeons is prioritization between trainees' education and patients' safety. The key issues include lack time exposure different diseases, due factors such as Working Time Directives subspecialization at major centres. order overcome these challenges, it essential implement a systematic, competence-based model, where complex procedures are learnt in small components. With aid simulation new technology, skills can be practised repeatedly before surgeon put front operating table. Attachments hospitals abroad, especially less developed countries, may also considered. Targeted courses seminars would help increase common pathologies. Rotation trainees across centres expertise minimize discrepancy programmes.
