Polymorphism at the LDL receptor gene locus in patients with cholesterol gallstone disease

摘要: OBJECTIVE To investigate the association between dinucleotide repeat polymorphism at 3' end of LDL receptor gene and cholesterol gallstone disease. METHODS Polymorphism (dTA)n was amplified by using polymerase chain reaction, alleles identification performed with denaturing polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis silver stain technique. RESULTS Analysis allele frequencies in 131 unrelated Chinese patients 79 controls indicated that C more frequent gallstones than (0.40 vs 0.27, P < 0.01), frequency BB genotype markedly lower (P 0.005), while CC BC genotypes were significantly higher respectively 0.05, 0.05).
