摘要: The two finest, most respirable coal fly ash fractions collected from the smokestack of a power plant were more mutagenic than coarser fractions. Mutagenicity was evaluated in histidine-requiring bacterial strains TA 1538, 98, and 100 Salmonella typhimurium. Ash samples hoppers an electrostatic precipitator not mutagenic. mutagens resistant to x-ray or ultraviolet irradiation, possibly as result stabilization by surfaces. All activity is lost with heating 350 degrees C.
