摘要: In the long term, precipitation in Central U.S. decreases by 25% during seasonal transition from June to July. This decrease has intensified since 1979 and such intensification could have enhanced spring drought occurrences U.S., which conditions quickly evolve being abnormally dry exceptionally dry. Various atmospheric land reanalysis data sets were analyzed examine trend June–July transition. The deficit is accompanied increased downward shortwave radiation flux, tropospheric subsidence, evaporative fraction, elevated planetary boundary layer height, all of can lead surface drying. change circulation was characterized an anomalous ridge over western a trough on either side—a pattern known suppress rainfall trending shows similarity with progression 2012 record drought.
