摘要: Abstract It has been suggested by a number of investigators that glial cells as well neurons are targets the central noradrenergic system. This important hypothesis, however, not presented previously in systematic and unified manner. The present review was therefore undertaken to accomplish this. evidence supporting action on glia consists primarily findings β-adrenoceptors, norepinephrine (NE)-stimulated cyclic AMP (cAMP) responses glycogen localized preferentially β-receptor density hydrolysis under control neuronally released NE. While there is some disagreement extent which β-receptors glia, consensus most forebrain this cellular compartment. presumed function appears be release glucose for production energy, synthesis neurotrophic factors such nerve growth factor, substances may affect local neurotransmission including taurine, cAMP its metabolites. These intimately related electrophysiological actions NE neurons.
