摘要: Biobanks for long-term research pose challenges to the legal and ethical validity of consent participate. Different models have been proposed answer some these challenges. This paper contributes this discussion by considering meaning value participants in biobanks. Empirical data from a qualitative study is used provide participant view process demonstrate that, despite limited understanding research, provides with level control form self determination that they value. Participation framed as moral act responsible citizen providing reinforcement identity. Consent symbolizes trust invested researchers institutions use biobank public good.
