摘要: Deviations from the quasistationary state in diffusion have been studied experimentally by measuring self‐diffusion of gases, both isothermally and a temperature gradient. Thermal is negligible cases considered. The nonisothermal measurements also serve as check on fundamental equation, which has not previously tested except under isothermal conditions. technique convenient for obtaining coefficients over wide ranges without necessity having all parts apparatus at an extreme temperature. Self‐diffusion CO2 Kr obtained range about 230° to 470°K this method. Although corrections nonattainment are small apparatuses used, values good agreement with those other sources fair others, provided gradients were too large.
