Effectiveness of treatment using fecal incontinence biofeedback isolated or associated with electrical stimulation

摘要: IntroductionThe prevalence of fecal incontinence (FI) has increased in recent decades, due to an aging population; and result negative impacts on quality life. Therefore, it is essential search for effective treatment order minimize the morbidity caused by incontinence.ObjectiveTo evaluate effect perineal training patients with biofeedback.MethodThis a prospective study which evaluated 85 FI from January 2009 2014, at Coloproctology outpatient clinic Hospital Sao Lucas/Cascavel, Parana.ResultsMean age was 47 years duration ranged 5 25 sessions (mean, 13 sessions). From women involved study, 70% (50) had vaginal deliveries 34 (40%) participants were submitted some orificial surgery. The score baseline 10.79 (6-17) post-treatment 2 (0-14) (p< 0.001). In population studied, 49.4% (42) associated pre-BFT UI; only 8.2% (7) post-BFT UI 0.001).ConclusionsThe data presented this confirm that through biofeedback without immediate indication surgery, still ensuring technique advantages being effective, painless low cost.
