摘要: An estimate of the groundwater budget at catchment scale is extremely important for sustainable management available water resources. Water resources are generally subjected to over-exploitation agricultural and domestic purposes in agrarian economies like India. The double water-table fluctuation method a reliable calculating semi-arid crystalline rock areas. Extensive measurements levels from dense network before after monsoon rainfall were made 53 km2 watershed southern India various components balance then calculated. Later, level data underwent geostatistical analyses determine priority and/or redundancy each measurement point using cross-validation method. optimal evolved these analyses. was used re-calculation water-balance components. It established that such an optimized provides far fewer points without considerably changing conclusions regarding budget. This exercise helpful reducing time expenditure involved exhaustive piezometric surveys also determining large watersheds (watersheds greater than 50 km2).
