摘要: Abstract Atomic oxygen density in the upper thermosphere (∼300 km) can be calculated using ground based incoherent scatter radar and Fabry-Perot interferometer measurements. Burnside (1991) was first to try this method, but Buonsanto (1997) provided an extensive treatment of method 1997. This paper further examines 46 nights data collected over six years latest information on collision frequency. The is compared with MSIS-86 atomic prediction values, which are upon situ rocket born satellite measurements from 70's mid-80's. In general, supports model, indicates several areas discrepancy. Furthermore, no direct correlation found between geomagnetic conditions difference predictions.
