Climate change messages and strategies by Australian NGOs

摘要: To date, the Australian Government admits climate change is a concern that needs to be addressed, but has yet implement policy domestically and internationally non-government organisations (NGOs) consider adequate. Through in-depth interviews, effectiveness of campaigns by seven environmental NGOs was contrasted with perceptions these NGOs' held 'external observers' debate: community, media, politicians, industry policy-makers. The findings suggest general community received messages about change, there insignificant agitation or action at this level felt politicians. The have formed new ‘alliances’ other interest groups professionals increased their credibility in eyes policy-makers. media are wary ‘sensationalism’ issue and, policy-makers, seeking stronger scientific basis give campaign greater objectivity legitimacy. Politicians present demands ‘unrealistic’, policy-makers feel could gain more ‘mileage’ from submissions. This research suggests effective raising awareness ‘agenda creation’, appear less politically ‘policy creation’ part cycle, area requiring further consideration.
