摘要: The giant multipole resonances in {sup 116}Sn have been studied using the ({ital e},{ital e}{prime}{ital n}) reaction. Data were taken at effective momentum transfers of 0.37, 0.45, and 0.55 fm{sup {minus}1} a analysis data was performed. inferred strength functions identify {ital E}2 E}0 as distinct peaks 12.2 17.9 MeV, respectively. energy-weighted sum-rule strengths for resonances, obtained Lorentzian fit to data, are 34{plus minus}13% 93{plus minus}37%. When compared with results from alpha scattering pion exhibit approximate agreement, but identified this measurement lies higher excitation energy, consistent trend observed heavier nuclei. continuum random phase approximation (RPA) calculation strengths, an open-shell RPA strength. Both calculations disagree region resonance.
