摘要: Individual variation is a ubiquitous and important factor that affects ecological dynamics. This study examined individual in the nest-use pattern of jumping spider Phidippus audax. Although diurnal species, field observations this revealed majority individuals remained their nests during day. An accompanying examination hunger level spiders were more starved than those observed outside nests. If actively forage when they are starved, as has been suggested by previous studies, one would expect to see opposite trend (i.e., satiated). Thus, contradicts known behavioral spiders. individual-based model was used investigate mechanism discrepancy found observations. A basic assumption possess distinct inactive active phases (biphasic activity pattern), transitions between two regulated spider. Data from laboratory experiment examine assumptions partially. The able capture patterns data, suggesting biphasic an trait foraging behavior
