摘要: During its life span the human red blood cell undergoes repeated, reversible changes in shape under influence of circulatory flow forces. This ability to deform (i.e., cellular deformability) affects bulk viscosity and is also a necessary requirement for cells pass through narrow vessels with openings smaller than diameter. In these microvessels concept continuum seems invalid it thus consider mechanical properties individual which will their passage. Although deformability rather vague term, generally agreed that determined by group more specific cell. These factors can be categorized as either extrinsic (cell size shape) or intrinsic (internal membrane vis-coelasticity, i.e., structural factors) (Meiselman 1981).
